[AUTHOR:1]There are two ways of spreading light: To be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.
I can proudly say that the Indian Society of Periodontology is the most active speciality organization in the country with many scientific programs for the members and educative programs for the general public.
As we complete yet another ISP year, if we look back we see a year that was marked with various scientific events. The last series of programs were the Integrate 2014 at Mahe on 30 th and 31 st August where Dr. Robert Horowitz was one of the invited faculty from the United States of America followed by ISP Colloquium which was held on 1 st and 2 nd September at Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi, 3 rd and 4 th September at Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research, Kolkata and on 5 th and 6 th September at Government Dental College, Bangalore. We had again the opportunity of interacting with international faculty at these venues. Dr. Alpdogain Kantarci and Dr. Hatice Hasturk from Forsyth University were among us to share their knowledge and experience on Periodontal Medicine. The event at each venue had an attendance of more than 120 delegates.
On 15 th and 16 th of September, the Training of Teachers Program for the life members was conducted at Lucknow. More than 40 life members took advantage of this program. The faculty from Manipal University have applauded the society for conducting the program and the involvement of the members participating in the program.
I thank each and every member of our society for the involvement in the programs and the support they are providing the head office in conducting them.
The major event of the year 39 th National Conference is just around the corner. I request every member to register for the conference and take advantage of this scientific extravaganza and experience the Rajasthani Culture and Heritage.
Looking forward to meeting you all in Jaipur from the 10 th to 12 th October.
With best wishes!
All our dreams can come true - if we have the courage to pursue them.
