The Colloquium series 2014, Bangalore was organized by Indian Society of Periodontology, Faculty, Forsyth Institute (Affiliate of Harvard University), USA, Department of Periodontology, Government Dental College and Research Institute, Bangalore & Bangalore Academy of Periodontology on September 5th and 6th 2014, Venue: Sri Dr Ramachandra Auditorium, Government Dental College and Research Institute, Bangalore.
The event started in full galore with over 300 delegates registering for the series. The inauguration function was graced by renowned cardiologist, Prof(Dr) C.N Manjunath, Director, Sri Jayedeva Institute of Cardiovascular sciences and Research, Bangalore. His extempore speech on collaboration of cardiology and periodontology for the betterment of public health set the tone for the program.
Day 1 of the Colloquium series focused on cardiovascular disease and periodontitis. The introduction to this topic was given Dr A.R Pradeep, followed by a series of lectures by Dr. Dayanand Biligi, Dr. Manjunath, Dr. Ashish Jain, Dr. Alpdoggan Kantarci and Dr. Sushama R Galgali.
Day 2 of the series threw light on periodontitis in relation to diabetes and adverse pregnancy outcomes. The stage was occupied by Dr. Vageesh Ayyar, Dr. Hatice Hasturk, Dr. Anirbhan Chaterjee, Dr. Latha Venkatraman, Dr. Mohamed Faizuddin and Dr Ashish Nichani.
The event was a huge success among all the delegates attending the series. All the arrangement made was highly appreciated by each and every one attending this two day program. The feedback we received from the faculties & students was excellent.
