The characteristic of scientific progress is our knowing that we did not know.

- Gaston Bachelard

(French philosopher and poet)

Wishing all the honorable members a very Happy and Prosperous New Year!

First and foremost, let me congratulate the editor and his team for bringing out a wonderful publication with a beautiful cover page.

With the beginning of the new year, newer goals, programs, and projects have been conceived by our president, and with the support of all the members, I am sure we would be able to achieve these goals. To improve the teaching standard and armed with a couple of successful "Training of Teachers" programs last year, it has been planned to hold this program in at least four different regions of the country to benefit the academician/member. The clinicians, on the other hand, also will have a chance to sharpen their axes as related to their clinical practice, when clinician-based programs will be held.

Another aim of our society is to promote the formation of ISP study groups under the aegis of the society for discussions and deliberations on the subject. I request the senior members to involve other members in the area to form newer study groups.

Apart from the regular annual program, it has been planned to hold for the very first time an undergraduate workshop to promote the science of periodontology among the undergraduate students.

The 12 th ISP PG convention is round the corner, and I am sure all the associate members and the life members are gearing up to attend the convention at Greater Noida under the leadership of Dr. Vidya Dodwad and Dr. Kanwaljit Singh Asi. The convention has an array of speakers and will also provide an opportunity for the associate members to present their work. I wish the organizing team of the convention the very best!

Let us meet at Greater Noida!
