"A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions."

Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

As rightly put by Oliver Wendell Holmes this year has been an absolutely fantastic experience and all that I can see is the further growth of our society in the years to come. President has already described the various activities being carried out around the country in the year and the benefit the members are reaping. I would at the same time like to congratulate the essay convenor Dr Anirban Chatterjee, whom I am sure must be busy compiling all the essays written under the various categories and would be busy with the panel of judges in assessing the essays.

I would like to request all the members to celebrate oral hygiene day on 1st August with the same enthusiasm and energy as they have been doing in the years before. The emphasis of oral hygiene has to be made understood to the general public, especially the children - the future of our country. I am sure every member will own it as his/her responsibility to educate the general public on the need and effect of oral hygiene.

A task undertaken to bring back all the members on the data base of the head office is near complete and we are in the process of providing the new membership numbers. I request the members to inform the office if any member has been omitted from the data base by referring to the member names uploaded on the society website. I am sure we will be able to provide the lapel pins and the membership cards before the end of this society year.

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant."

- Robert Louis Stevenson
