It is with a tremendous sense of pride and gratitude that I am laying down office of the Editor, with this last issue for 2010.

The Journal of the Indian Society of Peridontology became in the last 2 years, what it could not since its inception, a journal indexed on Pubmed. Its quality and content changed so dramatically, thanks to the hundreds of authors, co-authors, reviewers and the editorial board, all of whom were sticklers for performance and quality. I cannot thank them enough.

I place on record my particular thanks to the International Editorial Board, whose members have been so conscientious in their efforts to critically comment on the articles and set the standards that have guided the escalation of this journal in value and respect.

My thanks are also due to our publishers, Medknow Publications, who have so painstakingly churned out each issue with meticulousness time after time.

Finally, I have nothing but the highest regard and appreciation for Dr. Neha Gupta, our Associate Editor, who put her effort and soul into bringing out each issue, corresponding with the authors, interacting with the technical team at Medknow and trouble shooting each article. Thank you Neha.

In my first Editorial titled "The First Word", I had quoted Alphonse Karr - "The more things change, the more they remain the same". I wish the new Editor and the new editorial team the best of success in keeping up the spirit of the JISP which was so scrupulously cultivated in the past years, and hope that they can take the JISP to even greater heights and help it achieve bigger laurels.
